INTO THE IMPLEMENTATION OF NUMBER ) CAUSE NO. 41083
PORTABILITY, PURSUANT TO SECTION 251(b)(2) )
OF THE COMMUNICATIONS ACT OF 1934, )
AS AMENDED )
MOTION TO EXCLUDE EXCHANGES
FROM NUMBER PORTABILITY REPORT
GTE North Incorporated ("GTE") and United Telephone Company of Indiana, Inc., d/b/a Sprint ( "Sprint") request the Commission to exclude certain Central Office Switches ("COEs") from the consideration of Number Portability in this Cause. In support of their "Motion to Exclude Exchanges from Number Portability Report" ("Motion"), they state as follows.
1. In its "Order Reopening Number Portability Investigation" ("Order") issued on December 23, 1997, the Commission listed the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices for GTE and Sprint in the Commission’s Attachment D to this Order. For GTE, its offices or COEs for the GTE communities of Cicero, Morristown, Pendleton, Westfield, Frankton, Perkinsville and Rolling Prairie were listed. For Sprint, its offices or COEs for the communities of Fortville, Bargersville, Franklin, Whiteland, Jamestown, Marietta, Lapel, Wilkinson, Trafalgar and Nineveh were listed. No Competitive Local Exchange Carrier ("CLEC") requested that the GTE offices or COEs for Frankton, Perkinsville and Rolling Prairie be included in the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices. Likewise, no CLEC requested that the Sprint offices or COEs for Jamestown, Marietta, Lapel, Wilkinson, Trafalgar and Nineveh be included in the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices.
2. On February 2, 1998, the Number Portability Task Force Status Report was filed with the Commission. In recognition that the aforementioned COEs of GTE and Sprint were not to be offices to be included in the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices, the Number Portability Task Force Status Report properly reflects the inclusion of GTE’s COEs for Cicero, Morristown, Pendleton, and Westfield, and it correctly excludes Frankton (FRTNINXA754), Perkinsville (PKVLINXBRSCO) and Rolling Prairie (RLPRINXARSO from the list of the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices. Likewise, the Number Portability Task Force Status Report properly reflects the inclusion of Sprint’s COEs for Fortville, Bargersville, Franklin, and Whiteland, and it correctly excludes Jamestown (JMTWINXADSO), Marietta (MRTTINXARS1), Lapel, (LAPLINXADSO) Wilkinson (WKSNINXADSO), Trafalgar (TRFGINXARS1) and Nineveh (NNVHINXARS1)from the list of the Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices.
3. In that no CLEC’s have requested that these excluded offices or COEs of GTE and Sprint be associated with the Indianapolis MSA for purpose of this Number Portability report, GTE and Sprint respectfully submit that these offices or COEs should be excluded from the list of Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices.
WHEREFORE, GTE North Incorporated and United Company Telephone of Indiana, Inc., d/b/a Sprint respectfully request that the Commission grant this Motion and exclude the offices or COEs for the GTE communities of Frankton, Perkinsville and Rolling Prairie and Sprint communities of Jamestown, Marietta, Lapel, Wilkinson, Trafalgar and Nineveh from the list of Indianapolis MSA Selected Offices for the implementation of Number Portability.
Respectfully submitted, this 10th day of February, 1998.
