. Ameritech Region meetings scheduled to date:

July 29 in Indiana

August 18 in Wisconsin

  1. Cross Regional Meeting discussion

There will be a Cross Regional LNP Operations and NPAC meeting in Toronto the 5th and 6th of August. The group is looking at the need for a cross-regional Operations Team and discussing if this effort would replace the need for Regional Operations Teams.

  1. New Entrant Document

Robin Meier discussed that there were New Entrant procedures in several regions (Southwest, Bell Atlantic, and the Midwest) which were very similar in verbiage. It was discussed if we should introduce the Midwest New Entrant document to the NIIF as the one that was adopted by Midwest Region and we would like to have it moved through and adopted as a national document. No one was against this idea. An issue statement will be drafted for a NIIF issue. The New Entrant Document as developed by the Midwest will be taken to the NIIF as a contribution and NIIF will be asked to accept the issue and adopt the document, or use it as a baseline document for adoption of a national standard.

4. Code Opening Status

Work has started to make NPA NXXs portable on selected switches with NRD's prior to 9-1-98 and all are to be completed by 12-31-98. Updates on status will be provided as they become available.

5. Number Pooling Trial.

14 NPA-NXXs have been requested.

Pooling Administrator is supposed to keep a 9 month pool of numbers. The guidelines have been changed to a 6 month pool where the area is in jeopardy.

PM JULY 21 AND JULY 22

6. Number Pooling Flow Review's

The revised pooling flows were sent out last week for review.

Discussion or notes from meeting

. Pre-NPAC (Manual) Contamination FLow

Number Pooling / Pre-Port

Assumptions:

A Pooling Administrator must be in place to support pooling.

Donors will remove TN inventory from internal Number Assignment OSSs upon donating blocks to the Pooling Administrator.

NPAC manual conversion requirements needed (M&P) to update NPAC SMS and all local LSMSs.

A single 1K Block can not be allocated to more than one End Office (EO) switch.

All Pooled NPA-NXXs must be open to portability in the SPs systems, NPAC and LERG.

Release 1.4 will enable Snap Back to the Block Holder.

NOTES:

During interim manual pooling process, to avoid numerous notifications Inter-SP ports should be coordinated.

Effective Date will be no less than 3 business days of notification to both SPs or 5 days if "first port".

Pool Administrator will have to determine if any ports had occurred within NPA/NXX.

If YES - Effective Date = no less than 3 business days. If NO, Effective Date = no less than 8 business days.

Contaminated Blocks - Effective Date will be no less than 13 days of notification to both SPs.

7. Outstanding Operations Committee Issues List

The Operations Committee performed a detailed review of all documented issues that have been opened to-date. After review and discussion, it was the consensus of those present that each of the 51 issues have been acted upon by the Operations Committee. Each will be marked as closed as of July 22, 1998. Most were closed by the action of referring

them to other committees and require no further action by the Operations Committee.

8. NANC and Midwest Operations Flows Reviewed

The Operations Committee was polled by company as to whether their company has issues with the 4/8/97 NANC Issue 1.0 and the 4/10/97 Midwest Issue 1.0 flows. None of the companies present had outstanding issues with the flows. It was also determined that since the Midwest flows are a mirror of the NANC flows, we would no longer refer to the Midwest Flows.

This issue will be briefly discussed on the next conference call after companies have a chance to review the latest flows and check with their respective companies.

Additional Note regarding the Midwest Operations Flows:

A special meeting was held 5/20 to discuss the code opening process. At the 5/20 meeting the code opening process for the Midwest was modified.

For additional information refer to the following meeting minutes on ported.com. Midwest Region LNP Operations meeting minutes from meetings on 5/20/98 and 6/15/98.
